The Importance of Guitar Tuning Before Practice
Before you pick up your guitar to get into your rock, jazz or blues guitar lesson practice session, it is vital that you tune up first.
Without proper tuning of your instrument, you run the risk of developing an off-tuned ear. What this means is that during an impromptu jam session you run the risk of play out of key, your improvisation ability will suffer also. Not to worry though. Just be sure to refine your guitars tuning before you get to work.
It’s often said that the one thing you will always do and never perfect is the tuning of a guitar. In time and with practice, you’ll be able to get pretty close to having the instrument closely tuned. You’ll develop your “ear” and know when something is out of key.
Embrace the tuning sessions with your instrument. Regardless of whom you are or how long you’ve been playing, it’s a common trait amongst every single guitarist.
