Pet Sitting for Philadelphia Pets! 

My two male cats (both neutered and up to date on vaccines) need to be boarded while we move to Manila from Cebu.
I was wondering if anyone in Manila knows somewhere that boards cats? I know my vet does in Cebu but since we will be in Manila, we want them there.

Does anyone know of a place that does this that you can recommend? They are both VERY indoor cats as in, the world outside of their window sill very much scares them, so we want an indoor only place that comes with good recommendations.

I don’t understand, because when I got there and wanted to pick up my cat, I paid the rest of the money by Cash Card (EFTPOS or Debit card) and well it says on my bank statement that I paid it to them and that the money has been taken out of my account.

But now they keep emailing me they need the original receipt (which I do not have) to see that I have paid. I asked the bank and they said that the bank statement that clearly showed that the money has been taken out of my account is proof enough that it went out, and if it went on the pet boarding place’s computers then it could only be seen on the boarding place’s computers.

THey still say it’s not enough, and I am very upset since when I picked up my cat, she had a fever of 40 Degrees, lost 1/4 of her body weight and had fleas…and now they are accusing me of this!

So I don’t have the original receipt, and my bank statement only says it went into Hanrob(not a specific account number) and the money was taken out of my bank account.

What should I do? Can they go to the police in the mean-time?

To be honest, the police have a lot more to do than investigate claims such as this.

Okay, your bank can do more for you, they can check where the funds from the transaction described as Hanrob have gone to. They should be able to trace the actual account to which the money has been transferred.

Have you talked to the people at the boarding place and told them what shows on your bank statement? I have googled Hanrob and it comes back with details of a pet boarding place originally set up at Heathcote. Go back and talk with the people and tell them what exactly appears on your bank statement. Stay rational and I am sure that you can resolve the issue.

The local vet clinics and animal shelters in my town charge about $25 a day to board pets. due to my financial situation i cannot afford that, so i put an ad out to find locals who would be willing to take in my pet for one month. i of course want to pay them for this service, but i’m not sure how much. any suggestions??

I would recommend calling groomers, asking around in your neighborhood, begging friends or family members, and even asking the clinics or shelters if you can do some work for them in exchange for a reduced rate – practically *anything* before putting an ad out. There is no way to know who will answer an ad like that, and anybody with experience or references (in other words, anybody you could trust) would likely want just as much as the clinics and shelters.

I work for a kennel and would like to get some feedback on what clients to boarding/grooming facilities would like to see, or have enjoyed at their current groom shop. What products would you like to see more of? Services? We cater to all breeds and many pet types, but mainly Dogs and Cats. Just looking to expand our services and think add-ons are a great idea!

Doggy daycare has been very popular at our facility. We also have kitty cuddle time for the cats. We offer a spa day which encompasses grooming, massage, and day boarding. Many of our clients make a standing appointment for spa days. We are thinking of offering in house training for the basics in obedience. However we are having a hard time finding qualified staff to work it.

I was wondering which one everyone thought was better for dogs, cats, and rabbits. I am going on vacation next year in July and are preparing early. I have 3 dogs, 3 cats, and 7 bunnies. I was also wondering if to board my bunnies at $3 a day per bunny was a good deal ($21 a day = $168 total.) Thank you for yur opinion!!! We are going on vacation 8 days.

The obvious advantage of hiring a pet sitter is having the bunnies stay in a familarenvironment, this wont stress them out or cause any stress realted side effects. Also if you get someone to pet sit your bunnies you can pay them as much or as little as you like. You could use a friend or family or sometimes you can hire professionals.

However, boarding your bunnies mean you have trhe peace of mind that someone will remember to feed them and give them fresh water. However, they might not get the attention they want, because of all the other animals being housed they wont be able to play with your bunnies each day, while getting a pet sitter might have the time too.

I have been to many different pet boarding facilities and I can tell you that I found something I didn’t like at all of them. There were a few in which I decided to not use based on what I saw. But to answer your questions…

1. I would want there private rooms to be big enough that both of my large breed dogs could be together. Provide a comfortable, large and clean bed for my dogs so I don’t have to haul mine in. I will gladly pay extra for this. I’ve seen some rooms provide TV – I like this idea because when I leave my home I always either have my TV or radio on for the dogs. They seem less stressed when I do this – I know because I’ve forgotten in a rush a few times! I would also like a window in the room – I don’t want them to feel like they are in a cage so the more open and airy the room can feel/appear/be the better.

2. I’ve paid as little as $30 per dog to as high up as $100 per dog per night. I don’t mind the price as long as I feel I get my moneys worth in regards to the rooms and the additional luxuries. I also prefer the places that have everything included in one price. I don’t like have to have 1000 different prices based on my preferences. For example: One company let my dogs out 3 times a day at no charge. Each additional potty time I requested was an additional $5 per dog for 5 minutes. Play time in the yard alone was one price. Play time with other dogs was another price. I like options as much as the next person but too many is a headache.

3. I will be honest and say that the only thing I’ve ever purchased from any boarding kennel were dog treats that were all natural but decorated really fancy – oh and I did buy shampoo once that a lady made on her own. Other products have always seems criminally overpriced compared to regular pet supply stores.

4. My main concern is my pets emotional stability. I have some clingy dogs that are constantly up under my feet. They whine when they hear me but can’t see me. They are miserable without me. So my main concern is keeping them happy and their minds occupied on other things – like grooming or play time in the yard with other dogs. Let them play so much that they are exhausted and just sleep under I return. But also – bath them before I pick them up so they don’t wreak like a dog kennel. I pay extra for this always.

5. I think at least one call would be nice. What I would really love to see is when there are virtual cameras where I can just log in on a computer with a password and view my dogs in their room – or view the playground area and see if my dogs are there and watch them play. I would LOVE this!!

6. I feel some things should automatically be included in the price – bedding, bowls, and potty breaks, administer of any medications,playtime in the yard and please provide a bath before pick up time so they smell nice. I don’t think people should have to pay for this – include all this in the price.
I will gladly pay for a hair cut, nail trimming, ear cleaning or any other grooming procedure beyond a basic bath and brush out.
I will gladly pay extra to have my animals in one room together.
I will pay extra for treats and chew bones if I forgot to bring my own.
I will pay extra for all day yard play.

The best thing you can do is talk to people and look up boarding kennels online in different state to get ideas. The most important thing is that the animals always be treated as your own. Mine are spoiled rotten – so I would spoil any other animal in my care the same as I do my own. I would want nothing then that the best.

Im not finished with high school yet, but after I finish college Im planning to open this kind of business. I was wondering what licences or just any advice you have for me

u should become familar with local groups and learn form the expirenced people, and wait a while to open your own place, look for small buisnees classes as well, and grooming assistant positions. talk to store sponsered trainers and anyone else you can think of that has expirence, because in the animal world expirence is best

Dog kennels that are looking for volunteers are A1, Washington, The one over-looking the A1M/A1231 but can’t remember the name (something about Foxes). Tarrill in Castletown, Bridle Lodge, East Boldon and finally West Hall, Cleadon. Thereare vets springing up all over the place: First for Vets,OttoTce (Sunderland) & Roker Park Road and Ryhope. My husband and I are deploying and want to board our dog. I haven’t found anywhere that will board him for that long (9 months). If I can’t find one, I’ll have to take him to the pound- please help!

There is a place in a town just east of Lebanon I think it was called Brunswick Maine that was really good I can’t remember the name it’s been some 8 years hope this helps. She had people ship her animals from cali, and well everywhere.
