I’m a childcare providers during the weekdays but would also like to open my weekends for a doggy/pet daycare?
Is this possible?? How do i start this process?? I am a little lost, do i need to get a permit, license or any other things i might need. Do i talk with the county? Do i need to take classes?? Will it be impossible to have a doggy daycare since i have a children day care on the weekdays???? I live in San Diego, California, btw.

All I can say is make sure the dog’s you take in have all their vaccinations up to date and have been checked for parasites that can be transferred to children. You wouldn’t believe how many owners don’t know their dogs have tapeworms when they’re crawling right out of them! Not good for children! I would totally and completely urge you to not take any dogs without their bordetella vaccinations (kennel cough) it will spread like wild fire. We will not accept any dog without it and have never experienced an outbreak. Just do your research on the dogs it’s not that easy if you do it right and professionally. Good luck and have fun with it!

Would you take your pets to a pet daycare while you work?

December 302009

alot of pets get really stressed when the owners leave the house. They act out by tearing things up and some just whine for a long time but Do you think if you had a pet daycare near you home would you take your pet there so it wouldn’t be lonely while your away?

We have an energetic Brittany Spaniel that goes to our Trainers Daycare about once every other week. We have found that it has been a great time for her to socialize with other dogs, reinforce training techniques and allow her to let off some steam. She absolutely loves her time there!

how to start own pet daycare?hotel?

December 172009

is anybody knows how to start own dog daycare business where people can bring them to me for day or two?Is that expencive?

Call your local councilman to find out if there are any special permits needed.
Locate a suitable property that is zoned for business. You can either buy or rent it. Take a look at your local pet shop to see what equipment is needed. Calculate what it all will come to. If you have the money fine. Or you can seek financing

How much do daycare centers, or pet store owners make per year?

November 202009

what if you had one in Boston….or what type of setting would make the most
thank you both, nut for the second one who answered my question, hat type of setting is she in…(suburban, city, or rural)

you would probably make more at a daycare center. & if you find a program you could do it through your home- which is even more $$. my sister does this, and she has about 30 kids who come on various days (never all at the same time) probably about 16 at most at once. for each kid she costs $5 per day per child and $7 per day per child if they are still in diapers. thats about $3750 per month if the kids are all non-diaper.

Help! Where is a good pet daycare center in Orlando that charges little?

November 172009

I am going to New york for 2 weeks and i need a place for my cat! We live in orlando in Orange County. My zip code is 32835 where is a good place for my cat that wont cost me a lot? Please help if i don’t find a place my mom is just gonna leave him at home and make my uncle come and feed him that’s it! HELP!!!

Standard cost to have someone come in is $15 to $25 a day. Cat kenneling is in the $40 a day range. Try contacting your vet and asking if any of the techs do in home pet sitting. They’d be your cheapest, or take the cat over to a relative and have them take care of it for 2 weeks.

Good work at home job that is not a scam?

November 142009

Okay, I know that I am like every other american that wants to stay at home and work, but lately I have been wanting it more and more. I desperately want to get a puppy, but when I have a dog a am like a Mom, I want to be there for it all of the time. I hate leaving my pet at a daycare that I really can’t afford or thinking about the poor thing locked up at home all day without fresh air or a bathroom break. Not to mention I hate my job! Any advice?

The ones that aren’t scams actually require work on your part – and if you’re in need of money soon then you’re likely to be sorely disappointed in any of those as well. Most of the legit opportunities out there take time to build – so if someone makes an outrageous claim of income it probably isn’t true ( and those that are true sure didn’t make that kind of money when they first began ).

Time & effort required – but do your own research on what is best for you, don’t take the advice of myself and others as gospel from this type of forum.

I have other ideas that may help – one of them is an online opportunity but another is one that will require a little effort to market yourself – try some data entry for local businesses, many of them don’t have the time to do it in-house and will gladly pay someone else to do it. Professionals are a good place to start, lawyers, doctors, chiropractors, etc – they need their "in-house" folks doing other things rather than busy work.

Hope it helps!

Cute parent survey for toddlers in daycare?

November 112009

I teach the Crawlers class at a daycare. I’m trying to come up with a cute survey for new parents to fill out. So far, I have favorite color, favorite cartoon character, favorite sports teams (college and pro), favorite song, book and their pet’s name. Obviously, the kids are too young to care about any of that, but I thought it would be a cute survey for the parents to fill out for them. What are other cute questions I could ask?

Favorite hobby (you’ll probably get creative answers there), favorite place to go, fave toy, where/when they were born, siblings, famous quote (if they talk yet), future aspirations, worst enemy, favorite season, an interesting fact about them.

I have been diagnosed with a fungal infection on my hands. how could i have gotten it? i work at a pet store ?

November 92009

i have tried everything! oral anti-fungals, tea tree oil, anti-fungal creams, genitian violet (i am purple btw), and probiotics. i work at petco and a daycare. is this how i got it??? what animal could have done this to me??
o btw i went to the dr today and she diagnosed me with ringworm! im pretty annoyed that 4 other doctors couldn’t figure it out!

you could have gotten it from an animal by it licking you, or petting it, or cleaning the cages, or by touching something someone else contaminated. Kids are germ factories, I love them but let’s face it, it’s true. Fact is you have it, now. My hubby a hospital employee had a fungus on his hand that we had a heck of a time clearing, even with all the prescriptions available to us. A mixture of lotresin <think that’s spelled right> cream and hydrocortisone 10 cream. We mixed equal parts of the lotions and in a week he was better. We applied it when he woke up, then after he washed his hands, then at night we applied it and covered it up with a bandage. I didn’t want it on the sheets or me :-) I don’t know if it will work for you but heck can it be worse than being purple? We went there too. Good luck.

What is a day in a life for a business owner?

November 52009

I’m thinking of owning a pet store. I want to own a pet store that will sell pets( dogs, cats and small animals), acessories, and possibly at the same time, run a daycare for pets

When you own a business you can choose the hours that you want to work. You can choose 14 hrs/day or 16 hrs/day.

Looking for a doggie daycare in Sacramento, CA?

November 12009

I have two dogs that I’d like to be able to bring to a doggie daycare a few days a week. I just want them to be able to get some more exercise and not be stuck inside all day. I’ve found plenty of pet sitters, but I’d rather not have someone come to my home when I’m not there…any suggestions?

the nearest I could find was in San Jose .. :( sorry
