Advanced Core Traing: Decline Bench Sit Ups

February 252010

This is a great advanced exercise that will give you ripped abs and a strong core.

Here’s how to do it:

1. Adjust the height of the bench for your skill level (more declined for advanced).

2. Grab a 5 lb weight in each hand and hold them next to your head.

3. Do a sit up like normal while keeping your chin tucked.

4. On the way down, don’t let your shoulders touch the bench, but hover, then go back up.

This exercise is great because it lets you go below horizontal and gives you a full range of motion.

Using dumbbells is good because you can easily adjust the weights.

They’re a lot easier and safer to use than a plate on your chest.

Combine this exercise with some good plyometric drills and you will have a great vertical jump workout.
